Brotherly Love - A sibling photoshoot in Balham
What a wonderful session to be invited to in Balham last December. A local mum has booked me to take some pictures of her two boys as a Christmas present for her husband - what a great idea!
I arrived at their gorgeous flat, full of character (a reason why I love in-home photoshoots so much!) and was greeted by a very energetic three year old that couldn’t wait to show me his train track, trucks, cranes and tons of other vehicles. His little brother was fast asleep at the time which worked out brilliantly, as it gave me time to really get to know the older one. We played a bit and I got some lovely portraits of him. It was essential during this session to keep it natural and playful and it worked so well. Once the little one woke up we took some time to get portraits of him and give the older one a bit of a break and then went on to take some shots together. A 3 year old and a 6 month old - a challenge for sure but I loved it! In a scenario like this you just have to be quick, mix it up so they don’t get bored, engage with both equally to keep them happy… it’s exhausting but I get such a buzz from it. And I love the natural images we were able to capture! What do you think?
