Soon, you’ll be here! - A Maternity & Toddler Photoshoot in Balham
The excitement of a new baby joining a family is real. A beautiful time to really consciously enjoy the time with your older child as the pending arrival will change the family dynamic again. Your little one is suddenly the big one. When you were able to give all your attention to your first child you now have to split it between your older one and a newborn baby. It will be a change for sure but from my own experience, all I can say is: hands full, heart fuller!
Embrace the chaos, and be patient with your older one as they learn to adapt to their new role as brother or sister. Enjoy the calm moments you have with just your newborn and likewise make time for one on one time with your older one when the baby has arrived. All these looming changes can feel quite overwhelming and scary but hopefully, the excitement and joy of a new baby is overriding these emotions.
Booking a family/maternity photoshoot is a wonderful way to document this time. Whether it is just for yourself and bump or to include your older child(ren) and partner. I had the pleasure to document this beautiful mum with her girl and bump. It was a session to celebrate their bond and get some beautiful authentic portraits of a toddler being a toddler. Mixed with maternity shots to treasure for a long time.
