Just a typical Sunday morning -Family Photoshoot in Balham
It was a cold and cloudy Sunday morning in Balham. But the cold outside didn’t hold us back from creating heartwarming family memories with this gorgeous family. I had the pleasure to photograph them before. Our first session was a maternity session together with their older girl (you can read up on that here). This time I came back to capture a family of 4!
We started off making a yummy breakfast smoothie in the kitchen. I like to ease into a session by just chatting to you and capturing an activity that you enjoy doing. This really helps break the ice and get everyone comfortable.
We then went to the bedroom to take some family pictures. I love to photograph on a big bed, there are so many options of sitting up, reading, jumping on the bed, lying down. Most kids will love it! (And if they don’t we move on) Beds are also brilliant for photos with babies. I often ask parents to just lie down with their babies and play with them as they would after waking up. These photos are often so intimate and just beautiful.
We finished the photoshoot with playing some card games. Towards the end of the session kids tend to get tired and often aren’t in the mood to follow directions - who could blame them. So I usually suggest to let them pick something they want to play. This gives us an opportunity to get another scene into your gallery that is really depicting your everyday.
