Annual Family Photoshoots - Make It A Tradition!
I have made it my personal mission to book a yearly photoshoot for my family. I actually prioritise it over other spending and make sure we do it. I’ve never regretted booking a photoshoot and receiving the galleries always make me incredibly happy and fills me with pride. A lot of parents think about booking a photoshoot for newborns but it falls under the radar thereafter - life just gets so busy! Here are a few reasons why making it a tradition throughout the years is a great idea.
Remember when?
Everyone changes all the time. For our little ones it’s just massive changes in short periods of time. Wouldn’t it be lovely to book a family photoshoot roughly around the same time each year and compare how everyone has changed? It won’t just be the physical appearance, it might also be their personalities. A shy 2-year old might be a daredevil at 3 years old. With a natural style family photoshoot in the comfort of your home you can really capture the essence of everyone’s personality.
Documenting Milestones
Your family photo sessions can also evolve around milestones. This can be anything from birthday’s to big life changes, i.e. start of nursery/school, return to work after maternity leave, moving into a new home/leaving your current home - you name it! There are too many of these occasions where we just get tangled up in everything that goes with it and we forget to pause for a moment and capture these memories.
It’s A Fun Activity
Look at the photoshoot as a fun activity to do with your family. Incorporate your favourite activities: cooking, dancing, playing lego, crafts… it’s a really nice activity to do with your family without the distraction of phones and chores. Make it a tradition everyone is looking forward to!
Perfect Grandparent Gifts
Grandparents love photos of their children and grandchildren, especially if they don’t live nearby these photos will mean so much to them. Gift them prints, calendars, photo books with stunning pictures of your family.
Create Yearly Photo Books
I love the idea of having yearly photo books. But it takes so much work and time and often it’s one of those things we just keep putting off. Make it easy for yourself and create a yearly album with the photos from your shoot. This will be super simple and only take a few minutes to create. Or I can help you with it!
