Seeing Double - A Family Photoshoot with Twins in Tooting
Double trouble! Photographing twins has been on my wish list and I was so delighted to get the opportunity to photograph this gorgeous family in their home in Tooting. The twin boys were about 5 1/2 months old at the time of the photoshoot and full of personality. I was amazed how they were identical physically (although one is a bit smaller yet rapidly catching up) but already quite different in terms of personality. We started the session off in their nursery with a beautiful wall mural and then went up to the bedroom to take relaxed family photos on the bed. As the twins weren’t able to sit independently yet, we got some great portraits of them together lying down and doing tummy time.
We also got the guitar out! I love it when someone in the family plays an instrument and to incorporate this into the session. Kids love to listen to music, especially when their parents aka their heroes are playing it for them.
Towards the end we went downstairs for bit of playtime and their bottles. Often parents try to schedule the session around feed times, i.e. “Oh perfect, that will give me time to feed the baby before you arrive” but honestly, I think feeding is such a beautiful thing to capture. And it doesn’t matter if that is breast feeding, bottle feeding, the early weaning stages or if you are all sitting up by the table - it is special in any circumstance.
